【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingtherateofwatervaportransmissionthroughflexiblebarriermaterials.Themethodisapplicabletosheetsandfilmsupto3mm(0.1in.)inthickness,consistingofsingleormultilayersyntheticornaturalpolymersandfoils,includingcoatedmaterials.Itprovidesforthedeterminationof(1)watervaportransmissionrate(WVTR),(2)thepermeanceofthefilmtowatervapor,and(3)forhomogeneousmaterials,watervaporpermeabilitycoefficient.Note1Valuesforwatervaporpermeanceandwatervaporpermeabilitymustbeusedwithcaution.TheinverserelationshipofWVTRtothicknessandthedirectrelationshipofWVTRtothepartialpressuredifferentialofwatervapormaynotalwaysapply.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
