【摘要】:Cyanideandhydrogencyanidearehighlytoxic.Regulationshavebeenestablishedtorequirethemonitoringofcyanideinindustrialanddomesticwastesandsurfacewaters.Thistestmethodisapplicablefornaturalwater,salinewaters,andwastewatereffluent.Themethodmaybeusedforprocesscontrolinwastewatertreatmentfacilities.1.1Thismethodisusedtodeterminetheconcentrationofavailableinorganiccyanideinanaqueouswastewateroreffluent.Themethoddetectsthecyanidesthatarefree(HCNandCN-)andmetal-cyanidecomplexesthatareeasilydissociatedintofreecyanideions.Themethoddoesnotdetectthelesstoxicstrongmetal-cyanidecomplexes,cyanidesthatarenotx201C;amenabletochlorination.x201D;1.2TotalcyanidecanbedeterminedforsamplesthathavebeendistilledasdescribedinTestMethodsD2036,TestMethodA,TotalCyanidesafterDistillation.Thecyanidecomplexesaredissociatedandabsorbedintothesodiumhydroxidecapturesolution,whichcanbeanalyzedwiththistestmethod;therefore,ligandexchangereagentsfromSections8.12and8.13wouldnotberequiredwhendeterminingtotalcyanideafterdistillation.1.3Thisprocedureisapplicableoverarangeofapproximately2to400x03BC;g/L(partsperbillion)availablecyanide.Higherconcentrationscanbeanalyzedbydilutionorlowerinjectionvolume.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninNote2andSection9.
